Mysuru: Man arrested for attacking Karnataka Congress MLA Tanveer Sait with knife
Karnataka's Narasimharaja constituency MLA Tanveer Sait was attacked by a 25-year-old man on Sunday (November 17) evening during a wedding ceremony in Mysuru. The accused has now been identified and arrested.
Bengaluru: Congress MLA and former Karnataka Minister Tanveer Sait was attacked by a man with a knife, at a wedding ceremony in Mysuru late on Sunday (November 17) evening.
Mysuru Police said that Sait, MLA of Narasimharaja constituency, was immediately rushed to a hospital in the city, where he underwent surgery.
The attacker has been identified as Farhaan Pasha, aged about 25 years.
As Sait was seated at the function, Pasha attacked him with a knife and tried to escape. In his attempt to escape from the spot, Pasha was caught by the people at the venue and later handed over to the police.
Pasha is being interrogated, police officials said.
