Karnataka tahsildar caught on video asking for bribe

Ballari district, where alleged loot of iron ore resulted in a former Karnataka minister being jailed, saw a Tahsildar from the district asking for bribe openly from lorry owners involved in sand transportation.

 

The accused is identified as Vijaykumar of Hoovinahadagali, who said he wanted either 50% share per load of sand or weekly payments. At his behest, second division clerk Ranganath Doddamani took Rs 20,000 in bribe for the release of seized sand trucks.
