Karnataka Congress MP Hariprasad: Karunanidhi should be conferred with Bharat Ratna

On the day of Kannada Rajyotsava, the DMK office situated in Srirampuram, Bengaluru, saw the ceremonious inauguration of the statue of the late DMK leader MK Karunanidhi. It was inaugurated by DMK MP SR Bharti and Congress MP BK Hariprasad. The latter stated that he admires the political leader, Kalaignar for his profound, rational ideologies and his gritty fight for social justice in the state of Tamil Nadu. He added that the leader should be conferred with the Bharat Ratna owing to his "massive contributions to Tamil literature and the social development of the state". Amidst the known political equation between DMK and the Congress, Hariprasad requested the Prime Minister and the home minister to consider the late DMK patriarch exclusively for the coveted award.
