Kargil Vijay Diwas: 'Enhanced equipment for Indian armed forces a key change since 1999'

Kargil Vijay Diwas, named after the successful Operation Vijay, is celebrated in India on 26 July. On this date in 1999, India successfully took command of the high outposts which had been lost to Pakistan. 21 years on, the Indian Army has witnessed a sea change. We asked Major General GD Bakshi (Retired) on what are some of the major changes that have taken place in the last two decades and here’s what he had to say.
