Independence Day Exclusive: The Indian Army officer and his wife who join forces to serve the nation

Bengaluru: August 15, 2020 marks the 74th year of Independence for India. It is an annual occasion and a national holiday, wherein people hoist the national flag, wear colours signifying the tricolour, take part in many games and cultural programmes. But this time, the celebration will be low key with multi-layered security arrangements and social distancing norms in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Asianet Newsable spoke to Colonel (Retd) Diwakar Nagarajan, Indian Army officer and his wife Elizabeth Matthews Nongbri on the eve of India’s Independence Day.
