Garage set on fire by miscreants: How peaceful HAL in Bengaluru has turned into den of nightmares

The mounting incidents of mugging, assault of a BWSSB employee, drug abuse and habitual offenders roaming the streets, and now a garage being set on fire by miscreants have caused concerns by residents of HAL and surrounding areas over the competence of authorities.

Criminals seem to be calling the shots at the once so-called “pensioners paradise” HAL. Drug addicts mugging, assault is on the rise. Recently, a BWSSB employee was attacked with machetes for no reason by bike borne miscreants and yesterday, a garage was set on fire.

Residents say, incidents of drug abuse and crime in Islampur, Vibhutipura, Reddy Palya and Nellupuram are on rise and have been causing terror in the area. Angry residents say, police are either powerless against them or are hand-in-glove with these criminals.

With no fear for law and order, miscreants set a poor man’s garage on fire for allegedly objecting to hoodlums assembling near his shop.
