Exclusive: 'Congress cannot go on without the Gandhi family'

The Congress party has conceded that bad planning and late selection of candidates were among the reasons why the grand old party failed in the Bihar election. But in the process, the party is shying away at seeking accountability from the leadership. In fact, a section of the party chooses to shield the Gandhi family and blame the organisational cadre for the shocking defeat. 

Speaking to Asianet News, Congress leader Tariq Anwar said: "Congress leadership -- the Nehru-Gandhi family -- is part and parcel of the Congress party. They have contributed to the party and the nation. Congress party cannot go on without the family."
