Don't come to Masjids for Friday Namaz, offer prayers from home instead: Bidar Muslim Imam

As few Muslim community members defied the lockdown orders in the last few days in different parts of Karnataka, Bidar's Imam announced that Muslims should not come to Masjids for Friday prayers, instead offer the same from home.

Bidar: Amidst the coronavirus lockdown order, norms are still being flouted in a few Masjids across Karnataka. Bidar's district Imam walked with a loud speaker to announce that all Muslims must refrain from visiting the Masjid for Friday prayers, and instead stay at home and offer prayers.

The Imam appealed to Muslim community youths that they should not come out and stand in the street corners without any reason. He asked the youths to step out only for basic needs and remain at home.

The decision was taken by the highest Muslim body and the government to keep the public safe from infection and hence said the Friday Namaz at Masjids would remain suspended.
