Devotees drown during Durga idol immersion in Rajasthan's Dholpur

According to district collector Rakesh Jaiswal, nearly 5 people drowned in the river Parbati while immersing a Lord Durga idol in Rajasthan's Dholpur

Dholpur: A group of devotees drowned during the immersion of a Durga idol in river Parbati in Rajasthan's Dholpur. It is reportedly said that the victims’ families will receive Rs 1 lakh each from Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

Speaking to reporters, district collector Rakesh Jaiswal said, "4-5 people have drowned in the river. Four people have been confirmed dead, while the death of the fifth one is not confirmed yet. Two bodies have been retrieved so far."
