Coronavirus: Hassan and Tumakuru defy lockdown order blatantly

Hassan/Tumakuru: PM Modi announced an extension of lockdown till May 3. Emphasising the importance of the next one week (till April 20) in the fight against coronavirus, he appealed to all the countrymen to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus disease to newer areas. However, people of Hassan and Tumakuru have taken all measures to defy the strict lockdown in place. Showing a lackadaisical attitude, a group of people in Hassan were out for a morning walk with no regard for social distancing. Having no coronavirus positive case in Hassan has led people to take advantage. What was even more shocking was the Wednesday fair in Tumakuru. Throwing every lockdown rule and caution into the air, the Wednesday fair was held without any social distancing norms and people swarmed to buy vegetables, fish at 6 in the morning.
