Congress workers stage protest over rising prices of onion, LPG in Karnataka

Congress members in Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka, staged a protest over soaring prices of onions, LPG, petrol and diesel in front of district panchayat office. The protesters also tried to hang an onion garland around BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje.  
 

Chikkamagaluru: Congress unit in Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka, staged a protest over rising LPG and onion prices. Congress activists, mostly women, took to the streets in protest by wearing onion garlands around their necks and cooking dishes in front of the district panchayat office. Congress activists were outraged against the central government for the hike in prices of onions, gas, petrol and diesel. Activists targeted BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje and tried to hang an onion garland around her neck. However, the former tried to evade the garland and pushed it away. Karnataka Congress' minority unit vice president Nageena sustained a minor injury when Shobha tried to evade the onion garland. Sringeri MLA TD Raju Gowda too was present at the spot protesting over the prices of onions  and LPG and said the rates are overstated in the country. However, we tried to contact BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje but she was unavailable.
