After over six months of bumpy rides and wading through dust and pollution on Thippasandra Main Road near Indiranagar, commuters and residents can heave a sigh of relief as asphalting work has been taken up.

The work is expected to be completed in a day or two. According to corporator, the road repair work had been pending for a long time and when Rs 4 crore fund was approved for asphalting, the files got struck. After that the Congress and JD(S) coalition government collapsed, and the next government reduced the budget to Rs 3 crore. Without waiting too long for additional allocation, the work began as complaints kept pouring in with many angry over the bad state of the road that connects BEML, HAL and other software firms.

Commuters have now expressed happiness as the work has been taken up with the expectation that there will be no compromise on durability.
