In a shocking incident, bike-borne miscreants wielded a machete and looted Rs 43,000 cash from a petrol bunk in a prime location at Cleveland Town last night. The incident comes even before the city could heal from the gory incident of broad daylight murder of  ex-BJP corporator Rekha Kadiresh last week in which the CCTV showed she being stabbed 17 times.

In the latest incident, about 7 miscreants came in three bikes and covered their faces, first approached the staff at Vinod Auto Services petrol bunk on the pretext of filling petrol.

Soon, one person started walking holding a machete towards the cashier. The staff tried to hold the bag tight but the miscreants overpowered him and snatched and escaped.

The irony is that the Bharathi Nagar police station and ACP's office is hardly one kilometre from the place of the incident.

Based on the CCTV footage and other leads, the police are trying to nab the culprits.
