Beggar fielded as Gram Panchayat candidate, reason revealed

To humiliate and teach a lesson to the previous administration for not providing basic needs to Hulimavu village, the villagers picked up Anka Naik, a beggar near temple, got him a new set of clothes, drove him in a car to file nomination.
Officials had intervened last week when the villagers had announced to boycott polls in  anger.

Now to send a strong message that Hulimavu Gram Panchayat should not be taken lightly, the youths got this begger to file a nomination.
