BBMP's deadline drama: Repaired pothole caves in within 24 hours of repair

BBMP's shoddy work in filling up potholes lies exposed through Asianet Newsable's reality check. A fixed pothole on Mother Teresa Road in Richmond Town caved in within 24 hours of repair. On the same stretch, another repaired pothole was dug up, filled with stones and tree branches used to cover it up.

Bengaluru: The BBMP has once again given itself a bad name through its pothole filling deadline drama. In a hurry to meet its November 10 deadline which ended on Sunday, BBMP resorted to shoddy and substandard work in filling up potholes.

A reality check by Asianet Newsable has exposed the poor job done by the BBMP on Mother Teresa Road in Richmond Road, where a pothole has caved in within 24 hours of repair.

The loose bitumen serves as an example that in a hurry to fill up the potholes, the BBMP just filled in the gaps as a cover up and did not take measures to ensure a permanent fix.
