Arvind Kejriwal’s Hanuman temple visit: Manoj Tiwari makes ‘impurity’ remark, courts controversy

Arvind Kejriwal temple run during Delhi elections 2020turns into an ugly spat between BJP and AAP. While BJP calls Kejriwal 'impure', AAP says even Lord Ram can't save the saffron party.

New Delhi: Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari made controversial remarks on AAP's Arvind Kejriwal over latter’s visit to a Hanuman temple for pooja during Delhi elections 2020. “Woh (Arvind Kejriwal) pooja karne gaye the ya Hanuman Ji ko ashudh karne gaye the? Ek haath se joota utaarke, ussi haath se mala lekar...kya kar diya? Jab nakli bhakt aate hain na toh yahi hota hai. Maine pandit ji ko bataya, bahut baar Hanuman Ji ko dhoye hain (Did Kejriwal visit the temple to pray or to make the place impure He picks up the shoes with one hand and carries the garland on the other. This is what happens when there's a fake devotee. I have told the priest to wash the idol several times).” Responding to Tiwari’s comments, AAP’s Sanjay Singh condemned the Delhi BJP chief’s remarks, and said, “Delhi ke CM ko itni achoot bhavna se dekhti hai BJP? Is se zyada gira hua aur ghatiya bayan ho nahi sakta. Abhi bhi aap us yug mein hain jahan daliton ko mandir mein pravesh nahi diya jata tha. Shri Ram bhi ab BJP ko nahi bacha sakte (BJP looks at Kejriwal with such jaundiced eye. They can't speak any dirtier. Tiwari is still living in the age where Dalits weren't allowed into the temples. Even Lord Ram cannot save them).”
