Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan inaugurates Disha police station in wake of Hyderabad rape case

Post the Hyderabad rape case that shook the nation, Andhra Pradesh has got its first Disha Mahila police station, which will aim for stringent punishment in cases of crimes against women
 

Rajahmundry: In remembrance of braveheart veterinary Hyderabad doctor, who was gang-raped and burnt by four persons while she was returning home, a police station has been inaugurated in Rajahmundry. Andhra Pradesh chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy on February 8 launched the first Disha Mahila police station of Andhra Pradesh. All four suspects in the case were killed in an encounter on December 6, 2019 at the same place where they had raped and burnt the girl. Disha police stations will aim for stringent punishment in cases of crimes against women.
