Ambedkar's portrait garlanded with slippers, tension grips in North Karnataka

Following the insult to BR Ambedkar by miscreants who had put slippers on his portrait, hundreds of followers blocked roads and burnt tyres. 

The followers and various Dalit organisations demanded immediate arrest of persons behind such an act. The incident has created a tension North Karnataka's Vijayapura District and the police anticipate a simmering protest in other parts and have rushed extra forces in India Taluk, in Vijayapura of North Karnataka.
