Union Home Minister Amit Shah has responded to the allegation levelled by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan about the misuse of central agencies to target his government in the gold smuggling scam case.

Speaking exclusively with Asianet News during his roadshow in Thrippunithura locality in Kochi, Amit Shah said, "The chief minister of Kerala should first respond on whether his principal secretary was involved in the scam or not. If yes, then he (Pinarayi Vijayan) has no moral authority to say this."

"He (Pinarayi Vijayan) should tell the people why did he keep such a principal secretary who was involved in smuggling," the Union Home Minister said.

Speaking about his party's chances in the 2021 election, Amit Shah said, "People of Kerala are fed up with corruption by the LDF and UDF. People of Kerala want a new alternate option. I think, in BJP, people see that alternate option."
