Thousands of ASHA workers are staging a protest over inadequate measures to fight coronavirus pandemic and demanding a hike in salary

Bagalkot: The Karnataka government is focusing on increasing the number of beds for COVID patients amid the rising COVID-19 cases. However, ASHA workers across the state have been staging protests demanding a hike in salary and adequate measures to fight the coronavirus pandemic. ASHA workers in Bagalkot have written to chief minister BS Yediyurappa demanding their total honorarium to be hiked from the current Rs 6,000 to Rs 12,000. These workers posted a letter to the CM from the city's central post office.
