Former minister and Mangaluru MLA UT Khader hit out at local BJP MLA Bharath Shetty for objecting to cremation of a COVID-19 patient from a Konkani speaking community

A new controversy is afloat after hundreds gathered at a cremation point in Mangaluru. Former minister UT Khader said he is very hurt as local MLA Bharath Shetty has allegedly objected to cremation of a coronavirus victim.

Khader says, there are beliefs in every religion and community in performing last rites and it should be respected, but the local representative should take people into confidence and spread information about coronavirus and the cremation or burial of the victims.

He questioned Shetty's alleged objection and asked whether it is his party's stance?
