When the country is under lockdown and authorities are making efforts to contain the novel coronavirus spread, a Masjid in Karnataka’s Gokak witnessed a gathering to offer prayers. Soon, the circle inspector led the team of cops from the front and lathicharged.
The members of the Muslim community in Gokak had defied the 21-day lockdown order and performed namaz together at the local Masjid. The public tipped the cops about the violation order and expressed concern over the spread.
Soon, the police arrived and all the members were called out.
The moment all gathered, the policemen lathicharged them for violating the rule. Now, the video is viral.
The secretary of Wakf Board had given clear instructions to all the 16,000 heads across the state to lock the Masjid gate and instructed the community members to cooperate and offer Namaz in their respective homes till the lockdown is lifted.
