COVID-19: Patient struggles to avail ambulance service during lockdown
Mother who delivered baby recently was forced to walk quite a distance, thanks to the coronavirus lockdown. The patient’s relatives complained that even 108 ambulance service was not available during emergency.
Bengaluru: On the backdrop of the 21 day-lockdown, a woman, who delivered a baby recently, had to suffer as they failed to get any transport service, including an ambulance, to visit the hospital for a checkup.
Prathiba Poojar, resident of Cantonment area in Bengaluru, delivered a baby a few days ago and she had to visit the hospital for a checkup. Due to the unavailability of any mode of transport, even 108 ambulance service, she faced a lot of hardship.
The patient walked about half a kilometre to reach the hospital.
