COVID-19: Goof-up – Mistaken for attending Tablighi Jamaat, Hindu man put in quarantine

Koppal district administration’s alleged goofup has resulted in a man being put under quarantine for no mistake of his. Authorities received wrong information about Devappa attending the Tablighi Jamaat at Nizamuddin Markaz and put him in quarantine at a government facility

 

A COVID-19 positive tracing goof-up got a man in Karnataka to be put in quarantine for allegedly taking part in the Tablighi Jamaat at Nizamuddin Markaz. However, the man Devappa states he has never stepped out of his village in the last five years.

 Devappa had lost his mobile phone few years ago and according to reports. The district administration reached Devappa based on CDR (Call Details Record) details from his mobile phone which he no longer possesses.

 Despite his explanation to them, authorities forced him to stay in quarantine. But when the story began to spread, authorities let him go.

 As it turns out his stolen phone was being used by another person who was at Nizamuddin Markaz
