Army jawans guard village during vacation, teach lockdown violators stringent lessons

As many villagers in Terdal Taluk in Bagalkot of North Karnataka were refusing to stay indoors and follow lockdown rules, Army jawans who were on vacation there took up the task of disciplining the unruly public.

Army jawans, who had come to their respective native places on vacation, were also stuck due to lockdown, but that did not deter their willingness to do their bit for the nation. To teach lockdown violators a lesson or two, jawans in the motor bikes started touring the villages in Terdal Taluk, North Karnataka, punishing lockdown violators in true Army style.

Those roaming around with no reason and those found without masks were made to do the sit-ups and people who come out to fetch water without wearing masks were made to do weight lifting using the same can.

In the latest update, on Tuesday (April 28) Bagalkot SP HJ Lokesh said, "We have warned them and told them not to do it again.....Its Police Duty not theirs." He added that they are jawans from various forces who are on leave who were volunteering with village panchayats for non policing work. However they're not permitted to do policing/patrolling which we've warned them against strictly.
