After 25 shops out of 125 on Bengaluru's commercial hub Brigade Road shut as they were not able to withstand the pressure of rentals, coupled with taxes on items and GST. The Brigade's Shop and Establishments Association said "taxes killing us".
Suhail Yousuf, secretary of the Bridage's Shop and Establishments Association who is looking after the family business on Brigade Road way back in 1939 said, Covid-19 situation is worse and even big shops including Raymonds stores, Pizza Hut and Indian Terrian others.
Now he hopes there will be some relaxation on items connected with retails businesses and also slashing on GST.
