"This once in a lifetime crisis is also a once in a lifetime opportunity to grow and rebuild," said Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar while taking part in the discussion on the Union Budget 2021.

Listing reasons why Budget 2021 is a landmark one, the BJP national spokesperson said this budget was highlighted by increased government spending for employment creation, big boost in infrastructure investments, increased government execution capacity, focus on wellness as a guarantor of sustained economic growth and financial sector expansion.

Stating that hypocrisy is the staple of opposition politics, he further noted that opposition to private sector expansion in our economy comes from a party that has a "long illustrious record of handing out public assets to private cronies", including taking away public sector contracts from companies like HAL and "giving it to private Italian and Swiss companies".

He further said that "India can aspire to be a truly trusted global nation befitting our civilizational history while the Milan pedigrees, the Harvard degrees, the Cambridge tennis courts and assorted 'Andolanjivis' may keep trying to slow down India's rise. Let there be no doubt, that Indian have rejected this politics, the economics of cronyism, dynasties, fake socialism, vote-banks once and for all in 2014. We will never return to it again."

"India is moving from policies that arrested us to the past, to policies and thinking that open up possibilities for the future," he added.
