A poor family’s land in Madhapur Hyderabad had been usurped by local goons The couple alleged that influential officials were involved in the land encroachment The family is fighting for their land since five years
According to the details given by the victim couple Jagadamba and Kumar, the land that they bought with their hard-earned money in 2000 near Madhapur, Hyderabad has been usurped by local influential people. The couple have filed a case with the police and have been waiting for justice since five years. The couple had bought the land and kept it as security for their daughter’s marriage.

In 1994, a 100-yard plot in Siddiq Nagar near Gachibowli under the Madhapur Police Station limits was bought by Sayilu working as a light man in Film industry. He bought the land from Anil Kumar R. Kamardh for Rs 1000.
In 2000, the land was bought by Jagadamba and Kumar from Sayilu through a real estate broker Kumara Swamy for Rs 60,000. The agreement was drawn on Rs 50 bond paper and the money was paid in three installments.
Kumar worked in a garments shop while Jagadamba worked as a maid in houses. They have a son and daughter and at present the family is living at Lal Darwaza. The couple built a compound wall with a gate around their plot and kept the land as a security for their daughter’s wedding in future.
But in 2012, a local influential family built three rooms in the plot and gave them on rent. They named the owner of the plot as Raj Goud when applying for a current meter. Jagadamba and Kumar allege that the broker Kumara Swamy and his wife Harini (who was then the Deputy Collector) were involved in the whole scam.
Jagadamba filed a police complaint that their land was encroached and she accused that the then Sub Inspector Naresh was also a party in this scam. The victims allege the principal culprit to be Yadagiri Goud, brother of Raj Goud, and along with him Gopal Goud, Vikram Chari and Mallepally Rowdy sheeter Ahmad are all involved in the scam.
Jagadamba tried to register their plot according to ‘Sada Bainama’, a recent scheme of free registration by the Telangana government. But they were unable to do so because of this gang. Jagadamba’s family complained to the Cyberabad Police and the then commissioner CV Anand tried to solve the case with a special interest but the lower levels of administration didn’t cooperate and the case was left pending.
When the couple approached the police, the police asked them to bring the culprits. Even after investigation and information gathered from the neighbours at Siddiq Nagar who testified Jagadamba as the owner, the police didn’t take any action because of the influence of the fraudsters.
Jagadamba and Kumar urged and pleaded with the government for justice. The cost of the land would now be Rs 30 lakh which would come in handy for their daughter’s wedding. Since they are the rightful owners, they claim that they were able to fight against such influential people. They have been requesting the police and the government to do justice and give them back their hard-earned land.
