FollowIn a shocking incident, a mother of four was arrested in Gudiyattam in Tamil Nadu on July 21, 2017, for allegedly chopping off the genitals of her husband. The couple reportedly had a fight over the spouse’s illicit affairs when the woman committed this gruesome act.
The accused, Sarasu, was apparently carrying the man’s genitals with her when the police arrested her.
MT Irudhyaraj, inspector of police, told the Times of India, “We arrested the woman today when she was on her way to her parents' house in V Kotta. She was carrying in her purse the chopped off part of her husband's genital."Â
Sarasu and her husband Jagadeesan fell in love while working in a garments factory and got married 14 years ago. The couple has a son and three daughters.
A year ago, Sarasu went back to live with her parents after a family dispute while their children stayed with their paternal grandparents.
Sarasu was attending her son’s birthday where she was persuaded to remain with her husband. Sarasu agreed.
However, on July 19, 2017, Jagadessan came in an inebriated condition and picked up a quarrel with his wife. He suspected the fidelity of his wife. He also belittled her by saying that she was getting old and that he will marry another woman.
In turn, the woman accused her husband of bringing women home in her absence.Â
After Jagadessan had gone to sleep, Sarasu brought a sharp knife from the kitchen and cut off her husband's penis and left the house with the chopped off part.
He was immediately rushed to a hospital by his neighbours.
TOI reported that he was taken to Government Vellore Medical College Hospital where he was declared out of danger. "Surgery was performed. Jagadeesan is recovering well," said a police official.
