The investigation team is likely to slap Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) case against 21 suspected Islamic State (ISIS) recruits from Kerala. The move is to pave way for the smooth handing over of the investigation to the National Investigation Agency (NIA.)  

 

Meanwhile, the investigation team probing the mysterious disappearance of 21 suspected ISIS sympthisers from Kerala has received information that 12 among 16 persons who went missing from Kasaragod may have reached Iran's capital Tehran.

It is reported that a Kozhikode based travel agency arranged their travel via Bengaluru and later from Hyderabad. According to intelligence reports, Dr Ijas, his wife and two year old child were the first to book tickets followed by nine others which included Abdul Rasheed, an engineering graduate.

 

Meanwhile, investigators have detained one person identified as Firoz Khan hailing from Kasaragod in Mumbai. Khan had fled to Mumbai 10 days back and called his relatives back home informing that his companions had gone to Syria. Officials are of the view that the detained youth would be able to throw more light on the ISIS link.

In the background of fresh development the central intelligence agency chief has called for a crucial meeting in New Delhi on Monday evening. State intelligence Chief ADGP R Sreelekha will appraise the centre on the investigation so far.
