In another incident, a Hyderabad bound flight from Chennai also received a hoax bomb threat call at Rajiv Gandhi International airport. The airport security checked the flight evacuating the passengers. 

The letter claimed the attacks would be carried out on October 25 and 27. Authorities in Uttarakhand have received similar threat letters in the past but for the first time a case has been registered in this connection, the official said, adding it is being ascertained whether the threat is real or just a hoax.

In an effort to spread awareness among users, state lender State Bank of India posted a 25-second video on its Twitter account warning clients against falling for similar scam calls. The video shows an illustration of a hoax message informing a client that their electricity would soon be shut off.

The hoax bomb call to the top Mumbai hotel comes days after traffic police in Worli locality received messages on its WhatsApp helpline number on August 19 night warning of a '26/11-like' attack on the city. The messages came from a phone number with Pakistan's country code.

Bengaluru's Bishop cotton school on Monday received a bomb threat and the school staff had called the police and informed them about the threat.

Police evacuated all the schools that received the threat. A few schools were conducting exams. Parents were asked to come and pick up the children. Police officials ensured that exams were not disturbed, senior officials said.

Following the claims from unknown mail that a bomb has been placed as warned the school authorities not to take it lightly and asked the school authorities to inform the police at the earliest.
