In preparation for the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Bengaluru, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has taken proactive steps to ensure a safe and eco-friendly event. Chaired by BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath, a committee has been established, comprising officials from BBMP, police, Bengaluru Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM), and the Fire and Emergency Services Department, to oversee the festivities.
 

Bengaluru residents should expect scheduled power cuts on September 13 and 14 due to maintenance work by Bescom. Several districts will be affected, and residents are advised to prepare for daytime outages.

BESCOM has proposed scheduled power outages in Bengaluru to carry out repair and maintenance work, including reconductoring work and line maintenance, among other things.

The large-scale projects include burying all overhead electricity wires and smaller projects such as jungle clearing, water supply, and dismantling. 

BESCOM announces power outages as the electricity board will perform maintenance and repair work while the city is not experiencing rain.

With Bescom taking up its regular maintenance work, parts of Bengaluru will face power cuts for the next two days starting from Monday. The timing of the power cut according to Bescom alerts is between 10 am to 5.30 pm. The areas especially coming under Bengaluru South will be impacted during regular maintenance work.
