G.T. Devegowda, MLA of Karnataka's Chamundeshwari Constituency, announced plans to build a Ram Mandir in Harohalli, Mysore, using a Krishna stone resembling the Ayodhya Ram Lalla idol. The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for January 22, and sculptor Arun Yogiraj will carve the idol. The unique site, owned by a Dalit farmer, gains significance due to the stone's resemblance to the Ayodhya idol. 

The Mysuru Dasara festival's highlight, Jamboo Savari, was inaugurated by Yaduveera Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar, and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar commenced the celebrations. The event, featuring the resplendent golden chariot of goddess Chamundeshwari, draws domestic and international tourists to Mysuru. The day included special pujas, including the offering of flowers to the gold idol of Chamundeshwari.

The Jamboo Savari, concluding the Mysuru Dasara festival, begins on October 24. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the event with a puja at 1:46 PM. The procession includes various cultural performances and rituals, with Gajaraja Abhimanyu offering flowers to Chamundeshwari's idol. The grand parade follows a 5-kilometer route, concluding at Bannimantapa, with a flag parade at 7:30 PM, presided over by Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot. This festival is a major attraction for tourists and locals alike.

In Karnataka, the Authority for Advance Ruling has imposed an 18% GST on charging electric vehicle batteries, affecting public charging station users and companies planning to set up charging stations. Days after Chamundeshwari MLA GT Deve Gowda openly said that he will be leaving JD(S), another JD(S) MLA K Srinivas Gowda has reportedly made up his mind to bid goodbye to the regional party and is set to join Congress ahead of Assembly polls. JD(S) president says no question of convincing anyone.
 

In a big development in Karnataka politics, giant slayer GT Deve Gowda who defeated sitting CM Siddaramaiah from Chamundeshwari in 2018 is set to join Congress. Interestingly, it is Siddaramaiah who pitched Gowda's name before-party high command after they both patched up during Hunsur by-elections in 2019 December. Speaking to Asianet Newsable, JD(S) MLA GT Deve Gowda said the relationship between him and Siddaramaia is very much intact now.
 

The 60-feet Goddess Chamundeshwari statue with 18 hands is a must-see spot in Karnataka. The statue made out of five metal alloys is said to be the world's tallest statue dedicated to Chamundeshwari. The interesting thing to note is that the statue is made by Muslim experts in metal casting.

The entire state witnessed the much awaited Jamboo Savari sitting right at their homes seeking the blessing of Goddess Chamundeshwari. Abhimanyu who carried the golden howdah for the very first time was accompanied by female tuskers Cauvery and Sarala.

This year only two tableaux will be allowed to take part in the Mysuru Dasara procession. Unlike every year only five cultural troupes will be allowed to perform in the Jamboo Savari.
