Police exam question paper leak: 117 arrested; Rs 1.19 crore seized
At least 117 persons were arrested and the CCB has cracked the question paper leak case in Karnataka
The Bengaluru Police’s City Crime Brach (CCB) have cracked the question paper leak case of constable and Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) examinations and have arrested 117 people including kingpins Amir Ahmed and Basavaraj. The CCB sleuths were working on the case since two-and-a-half months. The CCB started probe following a complaint filed by an anonymous person at the Vidhana Soudha police station 75 days ago. The CCB joint commissioner of police Alok Kumar announced in a press meet that the accused had leaked the question papers of constable and BMTC examinations. They tried to leak BMTC question papers, but the exam was postponed due to Kodagu floods. Sources said that they had charged Rs 40 lakh to Rs 50 lakh for the police sub inspector question papers and Rs 8 lakh to Rs 10 lakh for constable and BMTC examination papers. The police have seized Rs 1.19 crore from them taken as advance. The question papers were collected from Amir and Basavaraj from the state treasury department. The police are probing to find out who they contacted in the government office.
