HAL airport flight crash: Mirage 2000 hits LCA gate, both pilots dead

It was a test sortie. Mirage 2000 developed a technical snag while take off and hit the wall near LCA gate at Yemlur. Both the pilots are reportedly dead.

A Mirage 2000 trainer fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed near the HAL airport in Bengaluru at 10.30 AM, on Friday. Both pilots ejected but one landed on the wreckage of the aircraft and died, according to reports. Another pilot was  taken to a hospital but according to latest reports he succumbed to his injuries. However, additional police commissioner, east zone, Bengaluru, Seemath Kumar Singh said that he cannot confirm the casualties. It was a test sortie. Mirage developed a technical snag while take off and hit the wall near LCA gate at Yemlur. More details are awaited.
