Congress legislators from Gujarat have been flown to a resort in Bengaluru to prevent them from being poached by BJP All the 42 legislators have been given luxurious facilities at Rs 7,500 per room with great food But the legislators are missing their Gujarati dish, forcing the Karnataka government to arrange for a Gujarati chef

Congress legislators from Gujarat, who are huddled up at a luxurious resort on the outskirts of Bengaluru to prevent them from being poached ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections, are having a good time, courtesy Energy minister DK Shivakumar. But the sweet-toothed Gujaratis are finding it difficult to adjust to the 'Spicy-South Indian' menu and are already missing their 'Thephla' and 'Bhakhri'.

The legislators are reportedly "tired" of having idli and dosa being served at the resort. "All the arrangements are great. But we Gujaratis have food that is not very spicy. We like roti, dal and kadhi," reports Hindustan Times quoting an upset legislator.

Breakfast in Gujarat consists of bhakhri and thepla and lunch consists of dal, roti and a dry vegetable dish. But in contrast, in Karnataka, rice or ragi balls are served for lunch and that's exactly what the legislators are being served at the resort.

It is reported that unable to adjust to the South Indian cuisine, the legislators have now made an appeal to arrange for a Gujarati chef or at least allow some of them to cook. Minister Shivakumar, who is allegedly bearing the expenses of all the 42 legislators, is planning to arrange for a Gujarati chef to keep them in 'good spirits'. After all, the stomach the way to a man's...err... legislators' heart.
