No untoward incident during actor-politician Ambareesh funeral; Bengaluru police force lauded

Due to diligent work of Bengaluru police for three days from November 24 to November 26, no untoward incidents were reported during the final procession of veteran actor, politician Ambareesh.

The death of actor and former Union minister Ambareesh left lakhs of fans teary eyed. As everyone of them wanted to pay the last respects to their leader, thousands from Bengaluru police force put in their heart and soul and guarded Bengaluru and Mandya for three days. As  a result, there was not even one untoward situation reported during the funeral. Though at times people tried to break barricades in Mandya and Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru, where the mortal remains of the actor were kept for people to pay homage, police personnel deployed there were on guard and prevented any untoward incident. In Mandya alone, 2 lakh people visited Sir M Visvesvaraya stadium. About 8,000 policemen were deployed in Bengaluru when Ambareesh's mortal remains were taken from Kanteerava Stadium to Kanteerava Studio in a funeral procession. It can be noted that during the final procession of legends of Kannada film industry, Rajkumar and Vishnuvardhan, many incidents of violence were reported as the crowd could not be controlled.
