Four persons, including Krishna Kumar Saini, HOD of the Paramedical Department at S Karan College, Shankar Lal Jat, lecturer in the Radiology Department at S Karan College, Ramkrishna Mandiwal, a member associated with Prabha Memorial PG College and Devkrishna Mandiwal, Administrator of Prabha Memorial PG College, were arrested. DCP clarified that the case was not a paper leak but an attempt to facilitate cheating during the examination by deploying fake invigilators inside the exam centre.

Police Operation and Investigation

Police said the gang was operating from Prabha Devi Memorial PG College in Mundota on Kalwar Road, where the paramedical examination was being conducted. Acting on intelligence inputs, a special team was formed under senior police supervision to investigate the matter.

Speaking to ANI, DCP Kiran said, "About two or three days ago, we received a tip-off regarding examinations being conducted by the Paramedical Council at several centres. Information emerged about a specific centre, Prabhadevi Memorial College in Kavari Dungri, where the founder had colluded with students from a particular college in Jhunjhunu to manipulate the invigilation process. Acting swiftly, we identified individuals from both colleges whose roles appeared suspicious...Yesterday, during the examination, the centre owned by one of the arrested individuals failed to maintain proper arrangements. Although the exam was scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM, the question papers were not distributed until around 3:40 or 3:45 PM."

During the operation, two suspects were detained and later arrested after interrogation. Police recovered two diaries from their possession, which contained the names of students along with amounts allegedly paid for cheating arrangements. Investigators also found mobile phones containing PDF files of admit cards and WhatsApp chats indicating coordination with candidates and sharing of exam centre details. Officials added that examination controller details are also being verified as part of the investigation to examine all aspects of the case.

Exam Centre Irregularities Uncovered

Police further noted that while the exam centre had a capacity of 1,500 students, arrangements were made to accommodate nearly 2,500 candidates, raising additional questions regarding the conduct of the examination process.

"Furthermore, students reported irregularities in the distribution process, stating that papers were handed out in a haphazard manner, with some floors receiving them before others. Additionally, the centre was located in a village approximately an hour and a half away from the city and lacked adequate infrastructure and seating arrangements. When the police team arrived following an outcry from the students, it was discovered that although the centre had a maximum seating capacity of 1,500, nearly 2,500 students had been assigned to it. Consequently, the authorities resorted to makeshift arrangements that were unsuitable for conducting examinations," he said.

"Videos of the incident are circulating on social media. There was no incident of a paper leak. However, the centre's founder was found to have been involved in appointing invigilators, a matter for which he had already been arrested...Money had been collected from some of these students, and a scheme had been devised to appoint hand-picked invigilators, effectively enabling cheating during the examination. However, we received timely intelligence and arrested those involved, thereby thwarting the plan," he further added.
