“After March 10, Dhamiji’s government will work aggressively to further develop the tourism sector in Uttarakhand. You (public) have to decide whether you want those who promote 'Paryatan' (tourism) or ‘Palayan’ (migration),” PM Modi further said.

The party's election manifesto, titled "Drishti Patra, 2022," has a renewed emphasis on infrastructure development, tourism, migration control, job creation, empowerment of women, farmers, horticulture, and dairy growth.

The opinion poll conducted by India News-Jan ki Baat projects the BJP to win around 34-39 seats in the 70-member state assembly followed by the Congress which expected to win 27-33 seats.

Speaking to reporters, the Delhi Chief Minister also vowed to generate more work possibilities for the state's educated but unemployed youths. "We intend to establish Uttarakhand as an international spiritual hub for Hindus. This will significantly boost tourism, and we expect that it will offer jobs for thousands of local youngsters," Arvind Kejriwal stated.

Akshay Kumar was also named Uttarakhand's brand ambassador for the 'Swachhata Abhiyan' in 2017. The actor did not seek a fee for the appearance and stated that he considered it an honour to be affiliated with the campaign.

This will be the seventh tour of Kejriwal in Uttarakhand ahead of upcoming Assembly polls since last year.

Rahul Gandhi's visit is being seen as a campaign strategy to boost the morale of the party members and workers in the state ahead of the assembly election.

According to a senior party leader, the party has made the required arrangements for physical and virtual meetings in accordance with the Election Commission of India's standards

He joined BJP a day after he was expelled from the Sonia Gandhi-led party for “anti-party activities” removed from all party positions as a disciplinary action.  

Rawat said that the state got a young leadership under Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. He had resigned from the post of Chief Minister in March 2021 less than a year before the Assembly polls.
