Four thieves caught stealing sheep, villagers strip and beat them

Four-wheeler thieves, including a minor, were caught red-handed while they were attempting to steal sheep from the fields. Asundi villagers stripped and beat them before handing them over to the police.

As Ramzan is fast approaching, and with many villages celebrating annual temple festivals during the end of summer, the demand for mutton may increase. Keeping this in view, four thieves were caught red-handed stealing sheep. The villagers stripped and thrashed them.

The gang led by Shrikanth, a driver and Vikas, tried to steal sheep and goats from Asundi village in Gadag, North Karnataka, to sell them at Maharashtra borders like Kollapura and Sollapura.

According to police sources, the thieves used to head to Goa and spend money on hiring prostitutes.

After hours of beating, the villagers handed them over to the police.

A case has been registered at Gadag's rural police station.
