Bengaluru: The false ceiling at Bengaluru’s National College metro station came crashing down and four people escaped by the skin of their teeth. The incident took place on September 30.
At about 6 30pm, four passengers including three women were walking from the automatic fare collection gates of the metro station.
All of a sudden, three false ceiling panels came crashing down and fell a few feet away from the passengers.
The incident has raised many questions about the safety of passengers in metro stations across the city.
Metro officials said one of the bricks from a high wall between the platform deck and the track bed had loosened due to vibration caused by train movement.
