Bengaluru: BMTC bus conductor attacked with acid; fellow staff suspected

BMTC was left shocked as one of its woman staff was attacked with acid. Indirabai, 34, was attacked near her home in Bagalgunte, Bengaluru early morning on December 20. The police which has registered a case picked up two BMTC staff based on mobile tower signals. The police suspect that the attack may be personally motivated

 

Two bike-borne men attacked a BMTC woman conductor with acid early on Thursday. BMTC which is more concerned about the safety of passengers has now been left worried about the safety of its staff.

According to police, victim, Indirabai (34), a native of Tumakuru left home at 5:30am yesterday and at around 6 am was attacked by two persons. Her face and neck region has suffered grievous injuries.

According to police, two BMTC employees are suspected to have carried out the attack, the motive of which is suspected to be personal.

Police have picked up Arun and Kumar Naik from depot 9 and 21 and an investigation is underway.
