Panic strikes as COVID-19 enters Bengaluru slum after woman tests positive

A slum pocket was sealed down after a 38-year-old woman tested positive and since then leaders and residents are left worried. The reason for the worry is that the assembly is similar to Mumbai's Dharavi and Nagpada slum.

Bengaluru's Dharavi slum, SK Garden, DJ Halli and Tannery Road slum dwellers are left worried as a 38-year-old resident from SK Garden slum was taken to hospital after testing positive for coronavirus.

BBMP commissioner BH Anil Kumar, health officers and police arrived at the spot on Monday and subjected 38 others to quarantine and sealed the area.

However the bigger concern is that the BBMP has not yet traced the main source of contact from whom the woman got infected from.
