95% Indians go to destinations but 'travel' on Facebook

India is a land of a variety of beauty travel destinations, and the number of travellers increases every year, but they seem to have been bitten by the social media updates.

A Hotel.com survey has revealed that the Indians spend more than 50 percent of their travel time on Facebook.

The study was conducted on 9,200 people from 31 countries which showed that the travellers, during a trip turn into the social media show offs and tend post each and everything (say from the menu of their dinner to the places the visit and the pictures) which they were doing during the journey.

The survey indicated that 95 percent of the Indian travel, on a vacation or a trip, tends to keep the travel updated on Facebook, spending more than half of their travel time on social media.

The social media fever has stuck the travellers so bad that most of the people post their travel pictures at various locations on Facebook just to make their friends jealous, suggested the survey.
