Stalin questions Saravanan on bribe video decides to approach Governor after staging a walkout

For the last two days DMK president, MK Stalin has been trying to bring up the cash-for-vote bribe video controversy to be discussed in the assembly. But since the Speaker of the Tamil Nadu assembly P Dhampal did not permit him to continue, Stalin and other DMK members have walked out of the Assembly.

“Yesterday, we requested the Speaker to discuss the bribe video controversy but he denied, stating that it is not lawful to debate over something that is still under investigation. Even today I tried to bring the topic to the table but in vain. Yes, it is not lawful to comment on a case that awaits hearing but in this case the decision to investigate the case is itself will be made on June 16. Despite making this clear to the Speaker he refused to grant permission. As a sign of protest we walked out and we have also planned to approach the Governor. We stand strong with 89 MLAs. As a strong opposition party, if we fail to represent this issue, we would be ridiculed by the people,” Stalin said to the reporters.

Stalin accused All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) of horse-trading of ministers ahead of key crucial trust vote in February this year. He wants the AIADMK dissolved and a CBI probe into the case.
