Kollywood Vishal requests TN govt to save Tamil cinema

Kollywood actor Vishal has requested the government to save Tamil Nadu film industry from the existing financial crisis.

Vishal who took part in the music launch of the movie Sagunthalavin Kadhalan, said, “I came forward to buy the music copyright of this movie because many who buy the music copyright are not loyal in sharing the profit with the producers.”

He further said, “I would like to place a request to the state government. Please save Tamil cinema. Please don’t burden us with the entertainment tax. Even a family of four finds it difficult, as they have to spend more money on parking, online services, and snacks. No matter how much money is earned in the release of a film, it does not reach the producer’s pocket. This issue should be solved. The fans should be brought to the theaters again. People may say that I am a villain but I don’t bother about such criticisms. I want Tamil cinema to be saved.”

Minister Arkadu Veerasamy, Theatre Owners Council’s Chief Secretary Rohini Paneer, Pepsi’s chairman RK Selvamani, Directors Council’s chairman Vikraman, Producers Council’s Secretary Kathiresan and Treasurer SR Prabhu, actors Mansoor Ali Khan and Karuna, directors R V Udayakumar and Manoj Kumar and many others have participated in this event.
