Kamal Haasan has a mental disorder retorts upset minister in Palanisami government

After Kamal Haasan's tweet demanding the resignation of the Chief Minister E Palanisami, accusing him of corruption, a senior member of the AIADMK hit back saying that Haasan has a mental disorder. According to a report by NDTV, revenue minister RB Udaya Kumar said that the renowned actor is mentally ill. The minister seems to have further added, "That's our conclusion".

He further said, "I think he wants to say something to the people but doesn't know how to say. May be he is having some mental disorder. That's our conclusion, he's got some mental disorder."

Kamal Haasan had allegedly said that the government was doing little to curb crime and corruption in the state, which in turn, agitated the ruling party members. In a politically-charged Independence Day message on Twitter, the actor had asked why there was no demand for the resignation of Chief Minister E Palanisami, despite frequent accusations of corruption from the government. He drew comparison with the opposition and said that they had immediately demanded the resignation of Yogi Adityanath after the death of 70 children due to lack of oxygen in a Gorakhpur hospital.

Haasan had earlier run into trouble with the AIADMK when he said that everyone had to face corruption in Tamil Nadu. One of the ministers even threatened to file a case against him for the misleading statement. Following which, the actor asked hisfans to flood the inboxes of the ministers withtheir complaints. His Twitter war against interest-based politics was not restricted to AIADMK. He had said that the two bitter political rivals DMK and AIADMK are "two tools to help" achieve his objective of a better Tamil Nadu. "If those tools are blunt, find others". These remarks essentially signalled that he had no favourites and the state's welfare was all that was driving him.

However, his presence at a DMK function triggered speculations that he might as well join the DMK.
