In 2007, when Siddaramaiah, along with his supporters, had rebelled against JDS and joined Congress, he was involved in a massive riot that happened in Mysuru around the same time. At that time, the police had filed a criminal case against Siddaramaiah along with K Mari Gowda (who accused DC Shikha recently) and others. The case is still being investigated.

But in the affidavit that he submitted to the Election Commission in 2013, Siddaramaiah has not disclosed his involvement in the case. In the affidavit, he has clearly mentioned that there are no criminal cases against him.

HD Kumara Swamy has said that according to the information furnished to him there are around 10 cases against CM Siddaramaiah and he is A1 (accused 1) and K Mari Gowda is A2 (accused 2) in all these cases.

As per the rules of Election Commission, any criminal case which entails imprisonment for two years or more is a serious offence.

If the CM fails to refute Kumara Swamy’s claims, a complaint against him may be lodged in EC.
