Railway bundh today

Vatal Nagaraj, Sa.Ra. Govindu and other pro-Kannada leaders have called for ‘Rail Roko’ today.

The Rail bandh is scheduled to start at 10.00 am today. The government has taken every precautionary measure at all railway stations in Bengaluru.

“We have called for rail bandh. We will stage the bandh peacefully across the state. We have been deprived of our rights. What happens if we release water till September 20 and our dams empty out? Where are we going to fill the dams from?” said Vatal Nagaraj.

Followed by these developments the police have extended the imposition of Section 144 till September 25. NS Megharik, Bengaluru's police commissioner, has issued orders to that effect.

Meanwhile a bandh-like situation continuous in Mandya and Mysuru and schools and colleges remain shut in Mandya even today.

The state has deployed 14 battalions of paramilitary forces, 40 battalions of KSRP, and 30 CAR battalions. It also has water jets and 15,000 policemen stationed across all the railway stations of Bengaluru.

Also, Tamil Nadu's opposition parties have called for bandh tomorrow in their state.
