Kudligi deputy superintendent of police (DySP) Anupama Shenoy approached Central home minister Rajnath Singh with audio clips for attaining justice.

The DySP waged a war against the system in early June when corrupt politicians allegedly pressurised her that eventually led to her highly debated resignation.

Shenoy's turmoils began earlier this year when she allegedly kept Karnataka Labour Minister PT Parameshwar Naik's phone call on hold. The offended minister claimed to have ordered Shenoy's transfer because she kept him waiting.

This was the beginning of an ugly spat between politicians and the former cop; the personal clash between Anupama Shenoy and Congress MLA PT Parameshwara Naik made the headlines for weeks to come.

Shenoy approached the home minster's office with along with her application as well as audio clips of her dialogues with senior police officers who advised her to cooperate with the politicians as they held powerful offices.

Shenoy had been investigating an illegal liquor lobby in Kudligi that is allegedly backed by some politicians. In her complaint, she has alleged that senior officers including IGP Om Prakash and Ballari SP Chethan pressurised her and interfered with her investigation.

“The audio clip contains casual and regular conversation that takes place every day in our department. The departmental matters that are discussed in the audio clip are purely internal. I have spoken to her after her resignation, before that I have tried to counsel her and now she is making false allegations,” said senior police officer Om Prakash.

Audio clip 1: Shenoy and MLA Parameshwara Naik

Personal Secretary of the minister: Hello, please wait. I will connect the call to the minister

Anupama Shenoy: Please.

Parameshwara Naik: Hello

A.S: Good Morning, sir.

P.N: Don’t you have patience to hold the other call for a few minutes?

A.S: No sir, the SP had called, hence I was busy.

P.N: Can’t you tell your SP that you are attending the district minister's call?

A.S: No, I can’t tell like that.

P.N: Why?

(Inaudible conversation)

A.S: Please learn manners and talk respectfully.

P.N: What do you...

(Suddenly the call disconnects)

Audio clip 2: Shenoy and the DGP

DGP: Hello.

A.S.: Hello sir, I’m Anupama.

DGP: Anupama, you got the letter?

A.S: Yes sir, I got it.

DGP: Hmm..

A.S: I got it sir.

DGP: Today?

A.S: No, actually last night.

DGP: Hmm.. You are from which batch?

A.S.: 2012

DGP: Since how many years are you working there?

A.S.: One and a half years sir.

DGP: Where is your family put up?

A.S.: Sir, I’m unmarried, my parents live in Udupi.

DGP: Let me tell you where the vacancies are. There is a vacancy in Udupi but you are from Udupi and so you be posted there. Another post is vacant in Mangaluru.

A.S: Is this a punishment transfer?

DGP: No, you are getting a reward transfer not punishment transfer.

A.S: (Laughs) Is there any pressure to remove me from this place.

DGP: That matter you just forget. There are vacancies in Athani, Aland and Indi. All in north Karnataka. CID iand IG are there in Mangaluru... can you call me after 5 minutes?

Audio 3: Shenoy and IGP Murugan

IGP: Hello

A.S.: Good morning sir, I am Anupama, Kudligi DySP

IGP: Namaste Anupama, why is the district minister is angry with you?

A.S.: I received a call from him, after a few seconds they put the call on hold. In the mean time, I received a call from SP so I attended the it. It was about a crime that took place in Ballari rural district. A man was stabbed near the medical store. The minister began shouting at me for putting his call on hold. I gave him an explanation saying that I was talking to SP. He said, “Do you think your SP is higher than the district minister?” I told him to talk with manners and respect. Several times he spoke to me harshly. I am sorry, sir.

IGP: Why are you apologising? Whatever you said is right, there is nothing wrong in what you did. But you must know that we have to maintain some distance from these people. We should neither be too close nor too far away from such people. You should to balance it well.

A.S: Okay sir, there are many other MLAs in the district such as Nagendra and Tukaram. But no one talks like that.

IGP: You listen to me. If everyone in the world became good then the world won't remain the same. When he speaks harshly, you shouldn't talk back. He unnecessarily approaches the CM and Home Minister and complains about you.

A.S: Okay, sir.

IGP: I will tell him that I spoke to you. Don’t speak to him again. If he calls you again then tell him that you’ll adhere to his words. You should manage carefully, okay?

A.S: Okay sir.
